December 2022 Transit Highlights

By the time December begins, we are already transitioning from the intense depths of Scorpio to the action-driven and optimistic nature of Sagittarius. This is when we have the opportunity to take any lessons and knowledge we have learned through introspection and put it to creative and productive use so that we can expand, grow and change for the better. At the beginning of December, both Mercury and Venus move into Capricorn and this comes at the perfect time. Our communication, finances, and relationships will all be taken more seriously and responsibly. But don't worry, this does not mean that fun and excitement will be lost! Also this month Jupiter re-enters Aries and Chiron stations direct in Aries. The Cosmos is calling for us to take pride in our hard work, get things done, and then enjoy the fruits of our labor. Gratitude is the name of the game right now. Not just saying "I am grateful", but putting the conscious effort into feeling gratitude and allowing that to be the undertone of this entire month. What things can you be grateful for regarding yourself? What about loved ones and your home? Health and diet? There are so many different things we can be grateful for which in turn will feed us the positive uplifting energy that we all need at times.

Neptune stations Direct in Pisces - 22°

While Neptune was retrograde in Pisces, we may have faced challenges around the direction of our purpose in life, as well as any inner demons around isolation, hopelessness, and things that seem to be out of our reach. It is commonly reported that in dreams people can see people and places but cannot touch them. Neptune retrograde may have felt this way - the things we want the most seem so real, yet unattainable. Now we are moving into the territory of clarity and less confusion. During Sagittarius season we become the archer and we can hit our mark with precision and accuracy. Neptune direct in Pisces says to trust yourself and trust the process. We have positive, creative, and expansive energy at our disposal. Any reality checks and lessons learned now can become tools that can be used. The more our imagination and fantasies are aligned with reality and grounded thinking the better.
Venus in Capricorn trine North Node in Taurus - 12°

Venus rules our partnerships both romantic and professional. Capricorn is said to be the most corporate or business-oriented zodiac sign. The North Node represents the direction we are headed and the things we're working on karmically. Adding the fact that it is in Taurus right now, when we put this all together we can see this is a great time to make positive progress within our professional and/or romantic relationships. One great strength of earth energy is the ability to balance logic and common sense with emotion and desire. This is a good time to make any adjustments with co-workers, teammates, loved ones or anyone in our inner circle. Our magnetism may be strong, and we can use this to gain advantages in reaching our goals. We must also guard against the indulgent side of Venus. If we are not careful, we can become too eager or ambitious instead of remaining in gratitude and appreciating all forms of progress. It will serve us well to be clear about our motives and intentions, which will set ourselves up for the positive side of this transit.
Mercury in Capricorn sextile Neptune in Pisces - 22°

In many ways, Mercury and Neptune do not mix. They rule the opposite signs of Virgo (Mercury) and Pisces (Neptune). Mercury wants to actively focus on details and structure while Neptune would rather "go with the flow" and avoid personal responsibility. This contradiction is underlined with Mercury in Capricorn and Neptune in Pisces. However, due to the nature of the sextile, we all have a chance to make the most of these two planets in aspect to each other. The highest manifestation of this transit is blending the mentally stable energy of Mercury and Capricorn with the creative power of Neptune and Pisces. We can tap into our creative inspiration and use it for practical or productive purposes.

The final Mercury retrograde of 2022 comes in the ambitious energy of Capricorn. Retrogrades are opportunities, not limitations. Don't forget, this is not your first rodeo with Mercury Retrograde! Capricorn is a tough and durable sign. We have the choice to villainize Mercury Retrograde, or we can accept any challenges that may come our way. Mercury Retrograde is known for delayed communication or misunderstandings. Because it is the end of the year and the holiday season, it will be important for all zodiac signs to be aware of tense moments with loved ones and society; specifically around travel, money, career, gifts, transactions, social media, real estate, investments and more. We can spend this retrograde being as patient as possible, thinking carefully about the decisions, and reorganizing anything like our home, work space, health routines, or social life.
