Leo Full Moon 2/1/26

Leo Full Moon 13°

Sunday, February 1 @ 5:09 pm ET

Full moons are always a time of cycle culmination; an opportunity to honor completion and the wholeness we feel in wrapping up a particular theme or goal of the cycle. If you follow the phases of the moon closely, you know the power and intensity the full moon brings at the end of each phase. Everything we do follows the sun – the sun illuminates the moon to her brightest and most intense, bringing to full light what can no longer linger in shadow. This month, the Leo full moon shines brightly while the sun lights our way in the sign of Aquarius. These two signs are polarity signs, or opposite one another on the zodiacal wheel. Opposing signs always have something to teach one another. One always embodies the opposite qualities of the other. Think of the old television show, The Odd Couple, and how they weren’t the same at all, yet they complemented each other in every way. The evolved version of each sign’s energy works to fill in the gaps where the other is different, while the unevolved energy shows where a sign could benefit from the mirror image of the opposite sign.

Leo energy is proud, boastful, dynamic, and robust. Leo leads with the heart, but also with the ego at times if left unchecked. Leo represents leadership and wants to be seen and heard. Leo connects to our sense of pride, family, tribe, children, creativity, and personal self-expression. In contrast, Aquarian energy centers on the mind and intellect, humanitarianism, and focuses more on the “we” rather than the “me”. Aquarius energy is innovative, future-focused, progressive, and a tad disconnected at times, only because the mind never stops.

With those energies combined, this full moon could highlight our sense of division between our own ideas & beliefs and those of others. It can help you determine when to lead and when to contribute to a greater whole. Children could be a significant highlight during this full moon, as well as a time to nurture the inner child and its expression in your life. Recognize where it is important to allow yourself to play, bring out your wildest creativity, and express where you shine the brightest. Also, think about how this will benefit the collective- how will your gifts and talents contribute to the oneness of the whole instead of the individual? It will be important to embrace both your creative & technical sides and bring those into balance. This can take the form of expressing yourself through new technologies or inventions. It will be important to note whether any major debates or power dynamics arise during this full moon. One way to work closely with these full moon energies is to move your body or engage in anything expressive & creative; this can be a good release for any negative or challenging emotions that arise.

Not only is the Sun in Aquarius, but so is Mercury, Venus, Mars, and Pluto. The Aquarius side of this full moon is strong, but the moon is asking us to find ourselves in the middle of the chaos. It’s okay to stand out, to be seen, and express your true colors. Find unique ways to connect to friends, your community, and the future you wish to live in.
